All together! Fetty Wap was by his ex-girlfriend Masika Kalysha’s side when she welcomed their baby girl on Tuesday, March 29. The duo named their daughter Khari Barbie Maxwell, the Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood alum’s rep tells Us Weekly.
Little Khari — an African name that means “queenly,” and “born to rule and bring joy” — weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce, and was born at 6:07 p.m. PT.
“Fetty spent most of the evening with Masika and baby Khari at the hospital in their private suite,” the reality personality’s rep exclusively adds.
Prior to the arrival of their little girl, the two were at odds. As previously reported, the rapper at first publicly denied he was the father.
During an interview with The Shade Room, Fetty suggested that Kalysha sought him out for fame.
“I wasn’t just no random dude in the club. You know what I’m saying’? She knew I was gon’ be there,” he said. “Congratulations to her and whoever is the [father].”
The singer told Us in January that she actively pursued a paternity test from the rapper.
“He’s only said, ‘I’ll see you at the hospital. See you when our baby’s here,’”she told Us of Fetty, who is already father of son Aydin, 4, (with ex-girlfriend Ariel Reese), and daughter Zaviera, 9 months (with ex-girlfriend Lezhae Zeona).
