Growing up in a large Italian family, Giuliana Rancic once dreamt of filling her home with kids. That changed, the new mom says, when she and husband Bill Rancic welcomed son Edward Duke in August 2012. "I used to say, 'Oh my God, I want four kids, five kids,' but gosh one is a lot . . . one's a lot of work," Giuliana told Us Weekly at L.A.'s Biggest Baby Shower event March 14.
Struggling through multiple failed IVF attempts and a breast cancer battle before welcoming Duke via gestational surrogate, Giuliana, 37, predicts she and husband of five years Bill will give their son a sibling — just not for some time. "We'd love to expand our family but as of now there's nothing in the works," she told Us Thursday. Instead, Giuliana and Bill are putting their entire focus on baby Duke. "I just want to make sure [I'm] giving enough attention . . . not spreading [myself] too thin," she reasons. "I just want to make sure I'm enjoying this time with him and not rushing anything."
Soaking up every last one of Duke's milestones as he approaches his eight-month birthday, Giuliana tells Us her only child is developing into a total mama's boy. "The big milestone for me is if someone's holding him — like, if daddy's holding him — he'll reach for me. That's huge," beams the Giuliana & Bill reality star, who famously told Us in February that she prioritizes her marriage to Bill first while putting their child second. (She later clarified her statement, telling Us that she does so because it sets the best example for Duke to grow up in a home full of love.) "That's like that moment you dream about. It's pretty cool."
