Gordon Ramsay announced on Instagram on Tuesday, January 1, that he and wife Tana are expecting their fifth child, less than two years after a devastating miscarriage.
“Exciting news ! Happy new year from all the Ramsay’s,” the celebrity chef, 52, captioned a video that showed his four children sharing season’s greetings before the camera panned down to his wife’s large baby bump.
“And guess what, happy new year because we’ve got another one coming. Oh, my lord!” the Hell’s Kitchen star exclaimed as his kids — Megan, 21, twins Holly and Jack, 19, and Matilda, 17 — cheered.
“Best news ever mate,” Ramsay’s close friend David Beckham commented on the post.
The exciting update comes less than two years after Tana, 44, suffered a miscarriage five months into her pregnancy in June 2016.
The Masterchef Junior judge made the sad revelation in a Facebook message, writing, “Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks. We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months. We’re together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes.”
The outspoken chef is a doting dad to his four kids but explained in an interview with The Telegraph in April 2017 that he is not leaving his sizable fortune to his brood.
“It’s definitely not going to them, and that’s not in a mean way; it’s to not spoil them,” he said. “The only thing I’ve agreed with Tana is they get a 25 percent deposit on a flat, but not the whole flat.”
