It’s a girl! Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley revealed the sex of their baby with confetti poppers at a gender reveal party on Sunday, February 24.
The pregnant Real Housewives of Orange County alum, 40, and her fiancé, 45, counted down from five with their guests before launching pink confetti out of poppers in their backyard. The couple screamed, jumped up and down, and hugged each other in videos shared to Rossi’s Instagram Story on Monday, February 25.
“It’s a GIRL!!!” the reality star captioned the footage. “Thank you Lord for this amazing miracle. We wanted a little girl so much! We couldn’t be happier! Best day of my life!”
The Bravo personality wore a custom Michael Costello gown to her baby bash, a plunging dress that was pink on one side and blue on the other. Smiley matched in a similar look, wearing a pink button-down beneath a blue blazer. The pair kept up the color theme throughout the party from the floral arrangements to the balloon backdrop.
“It’s the big day,” the mom-to-be said on Instagram before their reveal. “We’re gonna find out what is in the belly. We can’t wait. … It’s been a long journey, but we’re so excited to be here.”
She and Smiley, who got engaged in 2013, announced in December 2018 that they are expecting their first child together after a long IVF journey, which brought them even closer together.
“When you’re having your partner shoot you in the ass every morning with the needle, and when you’re going through as many shots as you’re going through and mood swings and the ups and the downs and just everything, it definitely bonds you together and brings you back together,” Rossi said on an episode of The Doctors at the time.
Smiley already shares sons Gavin and Grayson with his ex-wife, Rosie.
