Motherhood is equal parts rewarding and exhausting — just ask Hilary Duff!
“I have notes. I have a baby at home that I just had, so my brain’s kind of bare,” the Younger star, 31, prefaced her speech at the Cocktails for a Cause With Love Leo Rescue event at Rolling Greens in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 6.
Duff welcomed a daughter named Banks in October with her boyfriend, Matthew Koma. She also shares 6-year-old son Luca with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie, to whom she was married from 2010 to 2016.
During her speech, the “So Yesterday” singer opened up about not only her family, but also their adorable dogs.
“[Momo] has completely changed our household. I really can’t imagine what it was like before having him,” she said. “My son and him roughhouse every single day and burn energy together, and like I said, I recently just had a baby and I had her at home, and there wasn’t a step I took throughout the household that Momo didn’t follow me and curl up next to me. He was glued to me through the entire process.”
After Duff’s four-legged friend Dubois died in February, she and Koma, 31, adopted another dog named Lucy from a kill shelter.
“It’s amazing what a few months can do in a household that’s supportive and loving,” she said. “We love her, and she’s just as much a part of our household as any other dog that has been there before.”
The Lizzie McGuire alum and her musician beau started dating in 2016. They briefly split in March 2017, but kindled their romance that October.
