A pregnant Chrissy Teigen was winded but smiling at City Harvest’s 35th Anniversary Gala on Tuesday, April 24. “I feel a little out of breathe,” the 32-year-old, who is expecting a baby boy in June, told Us Weekly. “It’s nice to be out, back in New York. We flew in just for this!”
Though the cookbook author was being honored for her work with nonprofit City Harvest, she turned the attention to her 2-year-old daughter Luna.
“She says new things every day and we’re like, ‘Where did that come from?’” Teigen told Us. She and the 10-time Grammy winner husband John Legend love that they can have real conversations with their little girl. “We are definitely both toddler people, and we like talking back to them and interacting and being sassy back to them,” she explained. “We like that kind of relationship and now we can totally do that.”
Luna will soon have to share her mom and dad’s attention. But Luna might be shocked when her little brother comes home from the hospital. “She’s still so young, she’s really clueless still,” Teigen told Us. “She sees me. We take baths and she knows there’s a belly, but at this point, I don’t know that she knows anything is in it!”
Speaking of bellies, Legend has been making sure his wife of four years is well-fed. “He does this crazy Jamaican night that’s really incredible,” raved Teigen. “He does chicken curry, plantains, coconut rice and this crazy jerk shrimp salad. The chicken is in a slow cooker so it’s easy and flavorful.”
