Happy baby! Jennifer Love Hewitt gushed about her baby daughter Autumn to Us Weekly at the CBS Annual Summer Stars Party held Thursday, July 17, at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
"I feel really happy," Hewitt, 35, told Us of her life, which went through a series of ups and downs within the last year. "It's been a whirlwind," she said while elaborating: "Losing my mom was quite shocking, and finding the love of my life and having a baby…. all of it just kind of like hit me. But it's great. It's really great."
The Client List star welcomed her first child, daughter Autumn James, with her costar Brian Hallisay in late November. Shortly after their little girl's arrival, the couple wed in secret.
Motherhood, according to Hewitt, has been surprisingly doable. "You have nine months [to prepare]," Hewitt told Us, "and you're terrified. You're like, 'There's not going to be any way that I can do this!'"
The star added, "There are still days when you wake up and you're like, 'I'm not going to be able to do this.' And then the day's over, and you're like, 'I did that! This is awesome! I can do it tomorrow.' And then you wake up, and you do it again. It's great."
As for baby Autumn's milestones? "She's going to be 8 months," the actress gushed. "She's just smiling and laughing all the time. We call her the Happy Buddha. She just is like constantly joyful, and it's just invigorating to your soul. And you suddenly go, 'Oh, my gosh, life is this really exciting thing!'"
