Father-son bonding! Derick Dillard is already stepping up to the plate since welcoming baby boy Israel earlier this month with wife Jill (nee Duggar). The 19 Kids and Counting star shared yet another new photo of his newborn via Instagram on Thursday, April 23.
In the sweet snapshot, the proud new dad rolled up his sleeves to give Israel a bath. The bundle of joy looked up while getting washed off as Dillard held the back of his head.
The following morning, the duo were ready to seize the day. "3rd generation 'Pistol Pete' right here!" Dillard, 26, captioned an Instagram pic Friday. "#okstate #legacypete #gopokes." Israel looked adorable in an Oklahoma State T-shirt, cargo shorts, and wore baby no-scratch mittens.
Derick and Jill, 23, welcomed their first child on April 6. Just days earlier, Derick penned a touching letter to his son.
"It is so neat to have felt you kicking, punching, and turning inside of mom for months now. Even if it doesn't always feel the best for mom, I know the joy you bring makes it up for her," he blogged. "I pray that you will continue to grow, in stature, in knowledge, and in wisdom, true wisdom, that is from the Lord. And know that I love you son and I always will, no matter what. I will say it again… I love you Israel!"
