Derick Dillard

Derick Dillard gained fame when he began courting Jill Duggar in 2013, after previously becoming close with her father, Jim Bob Duggar. The couple’s road to marriage was highlighted on Jill’s family’s TLC series, 19 Kids and Counting.

Following their June 2014 wedding, the pair continued to star on the reality series until its cancellation the following year. The twosome then starred alongside some of Jill’s siblings on the family’s spinoff series, Counting On, beginning in 2015. The show documented their lives as a couple and parents, having welcomed sons Israel in 2015 and Samuel in 2017.

Six seasons later, TLC announced in 2017 that Dillard would no longer be on the show after making controversial comments about transgender TLC star Jazz Jennings. Jill chose to exit the series ahead of season 7 as well.

In May 2021, Dillard graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law. In addition to pursuing a law career, the Arkansas native helps run his family’s YouTube channel and blog.
