Jill Duggar has learned to be thrifty.

“Girl math: Mandatory weekly haircut done at home = more in the spend category of the budget, right?” Duggar, 35, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, October 3, sharing a photo of herself buzzing off husband Derick Dillard’s cropped cut.

Duggar further noted that getting a $20 haircut each of the 52 weeks in one year would total more than $1,000 annually.

“Can’t help the automatic girl math calculations, sorry babe,” she captioned her upload.

Duggar and Dillard, 37, recently left their native Arkansas for the East Coast while the attorney underwent military training with the United States Marine Corps.

“He has been selected for Marine Corps Officer Candidate School (OCS),” Duggar wrote via her family’s blog in April, referring to Dillard’s new career path. “He ships out for active duty to Quantico, VA, in a few weeks! Lord willing, he will commission as an officer at the end of OCS and then go on to a couple of other trainings before getting his assignment as a Marine Corps JAG officer!”

The Counting On alum, who shares three sons with Dillard, further noted that becoming a member of the military has been “something [he] has wanted to do for a long time.”

“After starting the process in early March, we have been surprised how quickly things have come together and the doors that have continued to open, so much so that we can’t deny God is leading us in this direction,” Duggar concluded at the time. “Lord willing, after Derick’s 10 weeks of intense training at OCS, the kids [and I] will move to join him in Virginia, and then Rhode Island for the remainder of his training.”
