Grandma Osmond! Marie Osmond shared exciting news on Twitter Thursday, Dec. 19, that her son is a proud new father — and she's a proud new grandmother!
"Hey everyone . . . I just became a GRANDMA!!!!!!!!" she tweeted. The 54-year-old singer later shared, "It's a boy!" (No futher details have been shared at this time.)
Osmond first announced back in June that eldest son Stephen Craig and daughter-in-law Claire Olds were expecting their first child together. "I am so excited I'm going to be a grandma," she told the ladies on The Talk on June 24. "I just can't wait."
The "Paper Roses" songstress learned she was going to be a grandma in a very special way. "We went in for my son — for his birthday — he turned 30, which is amazing 'cause I'm 29," she joked. "He blew out the candles and then blew me away and said, 'You're gonna be a grandma!' It was really fun."
Stephen is Osmond's only child with first husband Stephen Lyle Craig. The two wed in 1982 and divorced in 1985, but remarried in 2011. Osmond is also mom to two other biological children — Rachel and Matthew — and four adopted children — Jessica, Brandon, Brianna and Abigail — with second husband Brian Blosil, whom she was married to from 1986 to 2007. In February 2010, Osmond suffered a devastating loss when son Michael committed suicide at the age of 18 after battling depression.
