Party of three! Melanie Lynskey confirmed that she and her fiancé, Jason Ritter, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in December 2018.
“We feel lucky to have been able to have our news just be for friends and family for a while, but I guess the story got out, so! Yes!” the Two and a Half Men alum, 41, tweeted on Thursday, January 31. “@JasonRitter and I had a daughter in December. We love her so much; she’s perfect. Thanks to everyone for your sweet messages.”
The new mom also gave a shout-out to her “wonderful doctors” and “amazing heroic caring brilliant nurses,” tweeting that “from labor & delivery to postpartum, every one was an angel and I’m eternally grateful.”
Us Weekly broke the news on Sunday, January 27, that the New Zealand actress and the Parenthood alum, 38, welcomed their first child together.
Speculation started when Neema Barnette posted a pic with the actor on Instagram in December. “Congrats to Raising Dion Co Star Jason Ritter & his wife on the birth of their beautiful Sag baby girl,” the director, 69, wrote. “Babies are a blessing & so is Jason. What a hands down brilliant talent & exceptional human being he is! I’m blessed to have shared creative energy with you. Thank you for giving me a seamless performance.”
And on Saturday, January 26, a fan spotted Lynksey and Ritter at the airport and tweeted about the encounter. “I saw @JasonRitter and @melanielynskey at the airport and I smiled at her and I hope she took that as ‘I love you, you’ve been in so many movies I adore and your baby is adorable,” the onlooker wrote.
The Togetherness alum announced her engagement to Ritter in February 2017 on Hollywood Today Live, four years after they started dating.
