Life’s a gas for Patton Oswalt. The comedian shared a short story written by his 8-year-old daughter, Alice, and it’s clear she’s inherited his sense of humor.
“My daughter wrote this today,” Oswalt tweeted on Wednesday, January 17. “Gonna submit it to the @NewYorker’s SHOUTS AND MURMURS section.”
The tale — titled “Fart land” — is four lines of literary genius. “Fart land is a land where people who fart a lot get sent to,” wrote Alice. “You are one of those people. So you will be sent there. Your friends can visit. Not to worry. You will have a great time. At first it seems sad:( but every single person like it not one but Mia. you don’t need to worry about her. You home is 3249 sticky drive. Have fun!”

The A.P. Bio actor, 48, previously revealed that Alice saved him as he struggled to deal with his wife Michelle McNamara’s death in April 2016. “This is going to sound selfish, but I’m forever glad that I have Alice. If I hadn’t had a daughter and my wife died, we wouldn’t be talking right now. I’m not saying I would be dead, but I would be a shut-in alcoholic,” he told Playboy last August. “Everything would be shut down. I wouldn’t have been about anything. But with Alice, it was and is ‘You got to get up.’”
Oswalt now has one more rock in his life: wife, Meredith Salenger. He and the Hollywood Heights actress, 47, tied the knot at the Jim Henson Company lot in L.A. last November. He later shared two sweet photos from the ceremony that showed him and Salenger holding hands with Alice.
