Paul Rudd’s kids think it’s pretty “cool” that he plays a tiny superhero in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. But Jack, 12, and Darby, 8, were more impressed with the unlimited snacks on the set of the action-packed flick.
“I’m still their dad so they move onto the next thing pretty quick,” Rudd, 49, told Us Weekly and other reporters at a screening hosted by Synchrony and Avion in New York City on Wednesday, June 27. “They’ll come to set and they’ll think it’s cool and they’ve seen the suit, but then once they’re there they just want to know where the table with the free candy is.”

The siblings don’t go nuts loading up on chocolate and gummy bears though. Said Rudd: “They’ll grab one or two things and then want to leave.”
Rudd, who hit the red carpet with his wife of 15 years, Julie Yaeger, has made several other blockbuster hits since his fame making role in 1995 cult classic Clueless. (He played Cher’s lovable ex-stepbrother and eventual boyfriend Josh.) “The whole thing was a really fun experience. It was just as my career was starting off and I remember not having much of a barometer, yet, I knew it was a good experience,” the actor revealed. “I really enjoyed getting to know [director] Amy Heckerling and everybody in the cast. You know I have nothing but positive memories of it and it occupies a place in my heart and mind.”
Ant-Man and the Wasp — starring Rudd, Evangeline Lily, Michael Douglas and Judy Greer — opens in theaters on Friday, June 29.
