“Up 40 pounds and not one ounce went to my butt,” tweeted the supermodel, who is expecting a baby boy in June. “Please stop shaming the buttless, we are trying.”
The cookbook author’s post resonated with her nearly 10 million followers, including Australian actress Ruby Rose who replied, “I feel this.”
An hour later, the mom of 23-month-old daughter Luna shared a nugget of pregnancy wisdom. “Just a heads up that when a preggo says what they’ve gained, you can only share what you gained if it’s more. Not less. THEMS THE RULES.”
Meanwhile, it’s the not first time Teigen, 32, has lamented her backside. “I didn’t know butts were a thing until I was 23. Then came Jennifer Lopez and people were like, ‘That butt is great.’ Now you have to have a butt,” she told Esquire in 2014. “I have a little half-Asian butt, and the more I work out, the more I try to get it bigger, it’s just going to get flatter an harder.” (Teigen isn’t alone: one fan tweeted at her on Monday, “I gained 60 with baby #1. I gained 25 with baby #2. I squat 300lbs. Still, no butt.)
Teigen announced she and Legend, 39, are expanding their family in an adorable Instagram video in November. In the sweet clip, she asked Luna, “‘What’s in here?” prompting the toddler to respond excitedly, “BB!”
