Celebrities are known for over-the-top maternity shoots — we’re looking at you Heidi and Spencer. But pregnant Hilary Duff took a more understated approach.
The Younger actress, who is expecting a baby girl with her boyfriend, Matthew Koma, shared two photos from the shoot on Wednesday, September 5, and they are perfection.
In one, the barefoot 30-year-old gazes adoringly at her son, Luca, who is climbing on leather furniture. (Duff shares the little boy with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie.)
The second image features the expectant star and her 31-year-old songwriter boyfriend holding hands at the top of a mountain. She shows off her bump in a fitted gray maxi dress, while he looks hip in thick black glasses, a button-down shirt and black jeans. Duff captioned the snap: “And this photo is making papa bear and I look a lot cooler than we are.”
The Lizzie McGuire alum announced her pregnancy news in June. “I was so nervous beforehand because I thought for sure I was going to have a boy,” Duff admitted on KIIS-FM’s On Air With Ryan Seacrest that month. “I have a boy already . . . I’m obsessed with Luca — but I wanted one of each.”
Duff explained that Luca is “into all the boy stuff” and she’s ready for to fill the playroom with pink and purple.
Luca is slowly coming around to the idea of becoming a big brother. “He told his friends at school the other day that he’s having a sister that’s part red-butt monkey, so we’ll see,” she joked in June. “We never know.”
Duff and Koma collaborated for her 2015 alum Breathe In. Breathe Out and began dating in January 2017. They split in March 2017 but reconciled shortly after.
