North West will have some competition in the best-dressed kid department when Kate Hudson welcomes her baby girl. Designer Jennifer Meyer told Us Weekly that her 11-year-old daughter Ruby’s closet is filled with pieces from the pregnant actress.
“The best gifts come from Auntie Kate,” Meyer, 41, revealed at the Gigi C Bikinis pop-up event in L.A. “Ruby opens her gifts and she’s like, ‘Why don’t you buy me the same gifts Auntie Kate buys me?’ It’s like the cutest little dancer clothes.”
Meyer and the Deepwater Horizon star, 39, have been BFF since high school. Their inner circle also includes Sara and Erin Foster. Meyer, who shares Ruby and son Otis, 9, with estranged husband, Tobey Maguire, revealed that the pals all turn to Hudson for parenting tips. (The Fabletics cofounder has sons, Ryder, 14, and Bingham, 6, from previous relationships with Chris Robinson and Matt Bellamy, respectively.)
“Kate was the first one in our crew to have a baby, so she’s been the one to give all of the advice,” Meyer told Us. “She’s the best mom to her two boys, so she’ll be the best mom to her daughter.”
Hudson announced in an April 6 Instagram post that she and her boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, are expecting their first child together. A source told Us that month that Hudson was praying she would see pink confetti at the gender reveal party.
“Kate and Danny ware over-the-moon ecstatic,” said the insider. “Kate has had the baby itch and wanted a girl more than anything.”
