It’s official! Prince William and Duchess Kate welcomed their third child at St. Mary’s Hospital in London on Monday, April 23. Soon after, the arrival of the baby boy was announced outside Buckingham Palace.

Per royal protocol, a framed notice heralding the birth was placed on a ceremonial gold easel on the forecourt at the London residence at about 2:30 p.m. local time. The bulletin was brought out of the Privy Purse Door and will remain on display for approximately 24 hours. It will then be sent to the Privy Council Office to be recorded for official records.
The notice, which was signed by four members of the hospital’s medical staff, reads, “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 11:01 a.m. today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

Kensington Palace announced earlier on Monday that Kate, 36, gave birth to an 8 pound, 7 ounce boy. She and William, 35, are also the parents of Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, who will turn 3 next week.
The royal couple, who wed in April 2011, announced in September that they were expecting again. After Kate spent some time recovering from her battle with hyperemesis gravidarum (a.k.a. acute morning sickness), she debuted her baby bump in a blue Temperley London dress at a World Mental Health Day event in October.

William and Kate have not yet publicly announced the name of their third bundle of joy. According to the London-based betting company Ladbrokes, the top predictions include Arthur at 5:1, James at 8:1 and Albert at 10:1.
