Mother’s Day 2026 is especially meaningful for Sadie Robertson after her own mom, Korie Robertson, leapt into action amid her baby Kit’s health scare.
“Happy Mother’s Day to this treasure on earth 💎!!!” Sadie, 28, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, May 10. “She did not leave our side the past two weeks as we walked through this scary time, and I could not be more thankful for her steadiness!”
Sadie revealed in April that her 8-month-old daughter, Kit, was recuperating after she briefly stopped breathing while choking. The toddler, whom Sadie shares with husband Christian Huff, faced a similar incident weeks later. (Sadie and Huff, 27, also share daughters Honey, 4, and Haven, 2.)
As Sadie dealt with Kit’s health scares, Korie, 52, stepped in to provide support.
“I apologize to the rest of the family for stealing the MVP for two weeks,” Sadie joked on Sunday, referring to her expansive Duck Dynasty relatives. “But hey, we needed her, and I did gain a whole new respect for her part-time job of talking on the phone with every family member throughout the day, and somehow still rocking the world in her other job too!”
She continued, “You are intentional with every one of your kids, and love us all so selflessly! We ADORE YOU and want to be like you! Love you, Mom. I honor you today and every day, the woman you are!”
Days earlier, Sadie revealed that Kit’s two-time choking incident helped doctors discover “something underlying.”
“Praise the Lord that for such a scary and life-threatening event we had,” she wrote via Instagram on Friday, May 8. “It was a relatively small fix [and] because of the incredible doctors, and she is healing now. God really does establish STRENGTH in the mouth of infants.”
According to Sadie, she and Huff have found solace in their faith during Kit’s hospitalization.
“This past month has marked us in a way that will take a while to unpack,” she wrote at the time. “It has tested faith, and strengthened it. We’ve seen things that brought a lot of trauma, and also seen miracles on miracles that I’ll tell stories about forever!”
Sadie concluded, “The power of prayer has marked us, the love of community, amazing doctors and nurses and the evidence of God’s faithful hand in the midst of uncertainty. God is faithful, He is good, He is an ever-present help in times of trouble, He is a provider and protector, and the church is a wonderful place that displays His love in times like this. It is hard to know how to step back into reality after times like this, but we will one day and one moment at a time trusting the Lord will meet us in it!”
