Proud grandma-to-be! Susan Sarandon's actress daughter Eva Amurri is expecting her first child, and Sarandon couldn't help but gush about it in NYC on Friday, March 7. While attending the 6th Annual Blossom Ball to Benefit the Endometriosis Foundation of America, the Cloud Atlas star dished on what she's bought her future granddaughter already, and how Amurri's pregnancy has been going.
"I think that even when I was having a baby myself and even after I had two babies myself, that you can't even grasp the reality of it until that baby is there," Sarandon, 67, told Us Weekly at the event. "So even though we're very excited and the sonograms are beautiful and we've been shopping, it's still — I don't think you actually understand until there's a human being there. So we're still in that kind of state, but we're very excited."
Indeed, Sarandon has already bought Amurri, 28, a special gift in anticipation for the little one's arrival. "We bought this gliding chair," she said. "I had used a rocking chair, but now they have these chairs that glide. You can sleep in it practically. So that's what she got for her birthday from me."
Us confirmed on Feb. 14 that Amurri — whose dad is Italian director Franco Amurri — is expecting a child with husband Kyle Martino, 32. On March 6, she confirmed via Twitter they are having a girl.
"Who run the world? GIRLS! #BabyGirlMartino," the Mindy Project guest star gushed. "Found out our child will never be on the @ussoccer team," her soccer commentator beau added. "But may be on the @ussoccer_wnt. #ItsAGirl!!!"
