Allison Holker is celebrating the life of her late husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, on what would have been his 44th birthday.
“We celebrate you not just with sadness of missing you, but with so much gratitude for every beautiful moment, every laugh, every adventure and every memory you gave us,” Holker, 38, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, September 29. “You were so deeply loved by me and the kids, and that love continues to live on in all of us. We carry you with us every day in the stories we tell, the memories we cherish, the little moments that remind us of you.”
Holker and Boss met while performing on So You Think You Can Dance in 2010 and married in 2013. The pair raised three children, including Weslie Fowler, 18, Maddox, 10, and Zaia, 6, until Boss’ tragic death by suicide in December 2022.
“Today is about celebrating you and the beautiful life we were blessed to share with you. We will forever hold those moments close to our hearts,” Holker shared in her latest Instagram post. “Happy birthday Stephen. We love you. We miss you. We celebrate you today and always 🕊️🤍.”
In the middle of her first week of classes at the University of Oregon, Weslie also took time to celebrate her father by sharing throwback photos via her Instagram Story.
“Happy birthday to the greatest,” she wrote with the crown emoji. “Miss you always.”
In the years since Boss’ passing, Holker has documented her grieving journey through social posts, as well as a personal memoir titled This Far: My Story of Love, Loss and Embracing the Light.
Along the way, she received a second chance of love when she met Adam Edmunds in 2024. The pair announced their engagement two years later.
“I am forever grateful for you and the impact you have had in my life and my kids lives. I am a better person because of you,” Holker wrote via Instagram in February after the proposal. “You helped me find me again and showed me how to love. Every morning, I wake up [and] feel safe knowing you are my person at my side.”
In honor of Boss’ birthday, Ellen DeGeneres also shared a special post on Instagram in honor of her close friend. (In 2014, Boss joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show as the house DJ. He worked on the show until its end in May 2022.)
“Happy birthday, twitch,” DeGeneres, 68, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday. “I love you always.”
