Summer House costars Amanda Batula and West Wilson appear to be getting even closer.
Batula, 34, and Wilson, 31, were recently spotted dining in Sicily, Italy, according to photos published on Friday, June 5, by online gossip site DeuxMoi. At one point, Batula appeared to spit into Wilson’s wide-open mouth. He subsequently backed away.
The duo had jetted off to Italy after filming the Summer House season 10 reunion, in which they were confronted about the origins of their romance. (Batula and Wilson confirmed in March that they started dating, two months after she separated from husband Kyle Cooke.)
“We’ve talked about that privately. What this would look like and what this meant, which is the only reason I feel like I’m sitting here next to him now,” Batula said during the tell-all, which aired earlier this week, comparing her connection to his exes Ciara Miller and Meija Moreno. “I wanted to get to a point selflessly, where maybe I felt I understood what was going on, because I was going to have to be honest with Ciara no matter what.”
She continued, “I felt embarrassed to have to say, I have feelings and have kissed West and he’s seeing someone else.”
Batula and Wilson confirmed their relationship with a joint social media statement nearly two months earlier.
“While this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything,” they wrote at the time. “Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
Batula and Wilson continued, “We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Wilson previously dated Summer House costar and Batula’s once-BFF Miller, 30, who has since claimed that she was blindsided by the romance revelation. (Wilson and Batula have denied any overlap.)
“It’s one thing to experience hurt behind closed doors,” Miller told Glamour in April. “To experience it so publicly is like another layer, and then to have to see what you thought was your life still play out in season 10. It’s a major mindf***. Just know when something’s weird in your gut, there’s a reason. What’s done in the dark always comes to light. And sometimes you really don’t even have to do anything except sit back and let the universe handle it all.”
