Star-studded support! Emma Stone made her Broadway debut on Tuesday, Nov. 11 as Sally Bowles in Cabaret. The Help star, 26, took over the roll from Oscar nominee Michelle Williams, performing alongside Alan Cumming. For her big premiere, Stone’s longtime boyfriend Andrew Garfield was in the audience.
“Andrew came sharply dressed in a suit,” a source who attended the show tells Us Weekly. “Andrew came backstage after the show with Emma’s mother and his guests. He kissed her and congratulated her.”
The couple, who met on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man, began dating in the summer of 2011. Since then they have attended numerous events together, but mostly keeping their personal life private.
In a rare interview in April, Stone talked about her beau to ABC News, saying, “He’s obviously one of the greatest actors, I think, we have alive today. He’s also just a remarkable human being. I love him very much.”
A source close to Garfield tells Us that the actor made a point of attending his girlfriend’s show before he travels to Taiwan to film the new Martin Scorsese film Silence, which also stars Liam Neeson and Adam Driver.
The Social Network actor, 31, had his own time to shine on Broadway in 2012 when he appeared in the revival of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman alongside the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. His performance as Biff earned him a Tony Award nomination.
