Paige Niemann has built a massive online following for years by transforming herself into Ariana Grande, recreating some of the pop star’s most iconic looks.
In a new documentary titled Turning the Paige, the content creator, 22, reveals an alleged direct message she received from the chart-topping singer, 33, offering both encouragement and gentle advice.
“I am flattered and i am sure you’re very sweet. but i just wanted you to know, i looked back a little ways on your page and i think someone should tell you if they haven’t today that you’re very beautiful as YOURSELF,” the message Niemann claimed to be from Grande began.
The message continued, “Without all the make up and trying to make your face look more similar to someone else’s and whatnot. i had to say it because it is the truth. always do what makes you happy of course but if i didn’t say that to you, i’d regret it. you’re beautiful as you are. take care.”
In 2019, Niemann rose to fame by paying homage to the singer’s Victorious role, Cat Valentine, with her famous bright red hair. She continued to gain traction on social media by mirroring some of Grande’s biggest style trends. Some of Niemann’s viral videos show her rocking Grande’s signature sky-high ponytail, thick winged liner and the platinum blonde hair worn by her Wicked character, Glinda.
In the new doc, Niemann aims to reclaim her own identity and give the world an inside look at who she really is, as detailed in the synopsis which noted, “Behind the comparisons, the filters, and the fame is a young woman trying to build a life and career that’s truly her own.”
Grande has not yet addressed Niemann’s mention of her purported DM.

Meanwhile, the “Thank U, Next” singer is currently navigating a new chapter of her own after her recent split from boyfriend Ethan Slater. The exes met on the set of Wicked in 2022 while portraying Glinda and Boq on the hit films.
“It’s amicable. They gave lots of time and careful consideration and decided to go their separate ways,” a source told Us Weekly about the split. “They are still friends and very supportive of one another. They have been quietly broken up for several months.”
The insider noted that Grande “is doing great” post-split and has been “focused” on her recently launched Eternal Sunshine Tour and “upcoming new album,” Petal.
