Does Emily Maynard walk away from the Bachelorette finale without a ring on her finger?
Unlike most contestants on the ABC hit, the single mom to Ricki, 6, “entered the [finale] day hell-bent on not accepting anyone’s proposal,” a show source tells Us Weekly, adding that this season’s final episode is nothing short of “a roller coaster.”
Not only was Maynard, 26, struggling to choose between finalists Arie Luyendyk, the 30-year-old race car driver from Scottsdale, and bottled water company CEO Jef Holm, 28, (“She was truly in love with two really good people. It wasn’t clear-cut,” a source admits), the blonde beauty’s troubled history on the show influenced her attitude about the final rose decision in a big way.
Having already suffered through a painful breakup from former Bachelor Brad Womack — whose proposal she accepted as the finalist during his season — Maynard was terrified of putting herself, and her daughter, through that kind of heartbreak once more. “She didn’t want that to happen again,” an insider explains.
