Bella Hadid nailed her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show segment with ex-boyfriend The Weeknd — and the internet took note. The model, 20, strutted her stuff in sultry gray lingerie Wednesday, November 30, while making her first public appearance with the “Starboy” singer since their split. And thus, the best breakup meme was born.
“When u casually run into your ex,” one person on Twitter wrote, perfectly summing up the now-famous moment when Hadid strutted by The Weeknd on the glittery catwalk. Another added: “Tonight Bella Hadid fulfilled every girls fantasy of running into their ex boyfriend looking as hot as humanly possible you go girl.”
While the moment served as epic inspiration for ladies everywhere, Hadid confirmed Thursday, December 1, that she’s on amicable terms with the Grammy winner.
“Thank you @theweeknd for being the best and most incredible performer on the planet. You KILLED it, as always,” Hadid captioned a photo of their time together on the runway on Instagram on Thursday.
As previously reported, the duo called it quits on their relationship last month after more than two years together. “They still have a great deal of love and respect for each other and will remain friends, but it has been too hard to coordinate their schedules with him finishing and promoting his upcoming album,” a source close to The Weeknd told Us at the time. “They really tried to make it work.”
