Had to be there. Bethenny Frankel responded to reports that she threw her drink on a woman during a star-studded Coldplay concert for SiriusXM at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York, on Sunday, August 7.

“The press never lets the truth get in the way of a good story,” Frankel, 45, tweeted on Tuesday when a fan asked what happened at the show. In response to a Daily Mail story that @Realityshade shared, she added: “They forgot the part about when I killed a man with my bare hands.”

The reports in question claimed that the Real Housewives of New York star threw a drink on a few concertgoers who were blocking her view and that she was escorted out of the show. A source tells Us, however, that there’s more to the story.

“There were three very disruptive women in the front causing a scene,” a source tells Us. “When security and other guests approached the women,” the situation escalated.

The source says that Frankel, who was hanging out with Beth Ostrovsky and Calvin Klein, splashed some water on them when they got louder. “She did not throw a bottle or pour a bottle on anyone. She just splashed some water on them,” the source tells Us. Some of the women were escorted out, the source adds, but Frankel “stayed to watch the show.”

Frankel’s former RHONY costar Kelly Bensimon was in attendance that night. “We were all having such a good time and Bethenny seemed to be in a great mood. We said hello at one point and she nicely said hello back,” she exclusively tells Us. “I was shocked to read the story because I didn’t see any of this. It just makes me sad that so much drama was created and nobody is promoting the Wounded Warriors. That’s why we were there, to support them.”
