On The Run… from each other? Beyonce and Jay Z closed out the U.S. leg of their wildly successful On The Run tour Wednesday, Aug. 6, in San Francisco—but not without some tension. An observer tells Us Weekly that the power couple's lack of chemistry onstage was "palpable," with both parties appearing "very tired."

The crowd at AT&T Park went wild once Bey and Jay took the stage, but the couple, according to the onlooker, seemed weary. "Beyonce's eyes on the screen looked red," the observer notes to Us.

The eyewitness adds that the R&B diva performed her song, "Resentment," and once again changed its lyrics—further fueling speculation of an imminent split. The original line about a lover who had cheated, "Been ridin' with you for six years," was tweaked by Bey to "12 years" (which is, coincidentally, the duration of her relationship with the rapper).

Show attendees, according to the observer, "went crazy" as she belted out lyrics from the hit, relishing in moments where she would pause and let the audience sing instead.

As the hip-hop mogul rapped to her, Beyonce returned the favor with a stone-cold look. According to the observer, the only time the two truly connected was when they performed the tour's eponymous single, "On The Run."

"They gave each other a squeeze and a tickle," the eyewitness says. "She still seemed unfazed and managed a smile before slipping away from him."

The final moments of the show were very much the same. "They held hands with Jay leading the way," the observer tells Us. The couple then showed a home video on the jumbotrons, featuring their 2-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

Even then, though, "it was all business for these two," the observer notes.

The attendee's recollection of events mimic those of a separate source who went to the couple's joint show in San Francisco the previous evening. "You could definitely tell that something was off with them," the insider told Us. "It felt very frosty. Normally they kiss and seem affectionate, but for this show there was just a quick peck at the end."

The couple will close out their joint On The Run Tour with two shows in Paris, France, on Sept. 12 and 13. Click here to see more tour moments.
