With fans like these, who needs an Oscar? Jake Gyllenhaal got some star-studded support on Monday, Oct. 27, when his pals Beyonce and Jay Z attended the premiere of his upcoming thriller Nightcrawler at the AMC Loews in NYC’s Lincoln Square.
The jet-setting pair recently returned from a post-tour trip to Paris and London, and happily posed on the carpet next to Gyllenhaal. Beyonce, 33, who has ditched her controversially short bangs, wore an all-denim outfit with a black velvet hat and black stiletto lace-up boots.
Jay, 44, also wore jeans, but paired the casual bottoms with a sleek navy blazer with black leather accents. The film’s star wore a fitted black suit, having noticeably filled out since dropping 30 pounds for the challenging role of Louis Bloom.
An eyewitness tells Us Weekly that the couple were “laughing and happy as could be, chatting with a friend and hanging in the back of the theater.” They waited until the lights went down to find a seat, and Beyonce munched on popcorn as the movie began.
Gyllenhaal, 33, has collaborated with Bey and Jay in the past, appearing in their short gangster-themed film to promote the On the Run Tour.
The actor, who is set to debut on Broadway in the play Constellations in December, has spent much of the past few years in New York. Back in May, he was photographed courtside at the Barclays Center, sitting beside Jay Z and Beyonce at a Brooklyn Nets game.
