Her Prince Charming! Blake Lively accompanied her Canadian husband, Ryan Reynolds, to the White House on Thursday, March 10. The couple joined President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, wearing Jason Wu, for the State Dinner in honor of Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Lively looked both ethereal and Old Hollywood glam in a silver Ralph & Russo robe gown, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and a Marchesa clutch. The Gossip Girl alum suffered a slight wardrobe malfunction when her thigh-high slit revealed her shapewear underneath. Reynolds looked dapper in a dark tux with a white bow tie.
Fellow Canadian stars including Michael J. Fox, Mike Myers and Sandra Oh were in attendance, and singer Sara Bareilles was set to perform at the event.
Obama extended an invite to the hunky prime minister shortly after Trudeau took office in October 2015. The 44-year-old politician — who has made headlines for his chiseled jawline — is the first Canadian official to visit Washington in almost 20 years.
According to reports, the two leaders discussed trade, environmental and security issues. While addressing media outlets, Obama joked that the U.S. and Canada will still disagree on some topics — such as whose beer is better.
