Chuck Bass is more charming than ever! Ed Westwick updated Us Weekly on his latest projects and whether he keeps in touch with his Gossip Girl costars, including Blake Lively.

"Of course!" he told Us of his friendship with the pregnant actress at Tommy Hilfiger and GQ's 3rd annual Men of New York bash on Dec. 11. "I texted her the other day." (Westwick, 27, has a history of speaking highly about Lively, 27, who played Serena van der Woodsen on the CW show. In a 2012 Q&A with Us, the British hunk wrote Lively's name in response to the question: "Before it's all over I plan to steal ________ from the [Gossip Girl] set.")

The actor also went into some detail about Lively's pregnancy on Thursday, telling Us that the mom-to-be is happier than ever as she's expecting her first child with husband Ryan Reynolds.

"She's really well. She's doing great," he told Us of the bubbly actress. "I think she's handling it all great. She's rocking it." Laughing, he joked: "She's got it under control." (Indeed, Lively controlled and contained her pregnancy announcement, sharing her happy news with fans through her lifestyle website Preserve this past fall.)

As for his own personal endeavors since the series' finale in December 2012? "I have a bunch of films coming out," Westwick told Us. "Two English, and then I've got one coming out which is a complete horror spoof thing. It's called Kitchen Sink. It comes out in January."

Westwick, who played Leighton Meester's tortured on-screen love interest, said he's much happier working on films. "I've been really lucky so far. I've been given great opportunities," he said of his acting career. "I like film. I like that because if you don't like the people you just say, 'Okay. Bye bye!' at the end and go your separate ways."
