No sympathy — or sugar from this honeybee! Blake Shelton told Us Weekly and other reporters at The Voice Top 5 Semifinals on Monday, May 11, that he didn’t reach out to his pal and fellow Voice coach Adam Levine after the rocker’s headline-making sugar-bombing incident last week.
“I could pretty much tell he was okay when I saw the pictures of him with the flour slammed across his face,” Shelton said of the powdery white substance tossed at Levine following a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I was like, ‘Eh, he still looks like he’s standing upright.’ I’m not worried about him.”
Photos from the brush showed the “Sugar” hitmaker clearly miffed after being bombed with a bag of powdered sugar. The perpetrator managed to cover Levine’s gold and blue sweater and part of the Maroon 5 frontman’s face.
“I felt bad that that guy had to go to jail,” Shelton joked with Us on Monday, making light of his ongoing prank war with Levine. “I gave him 50 bucks though, so…”
On a more serious note, Shelton told Us that he’s never experienced such crazy fandemonium — lucky for the offender.
“It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people can be,” Shelton said. “I can’t even imagine why. I wish whenever they went out of sight or whatever, whenever they dragged that guy over behind that wall, I would have been the guy over there like, kicking him in the nuts, in the stomach, hitting him in the head with a rock or something. I would have definitely stooped to that guy’s level. I’m glad he didn’t do anything like that [to me].”
