After almost six months of fighting for her life, Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away on Sunday, July 26. The aspiring singer’s death comes just three years after her mom, Whitney Houston, tragically died.
But a source confirms to Us Weekly that the mother and daughter will be reunited once again. Following Brown’s Atlanta, Ga. funeral service, her body will be flown to New Jersey to be buried next to Houston’s. (Entertainment Tonight was the first to report this.)
The Grammy winner was laid to rest on Feb. 19, 2012 in an emotional ceremony. She had been found eight days earlier in her bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel ahead of Clive Davis’ annual Grammys party.
Brown was found in an eerily similar position on Jan. 31, 2015, lying facedown and unconscious in the bathtub of her home. There is an ongoing criminal investigation surrounding what happened prior to Brown’s longtime partner Nick Gordon finding her in the bathtub.
Houston’s official fan page posted a tribute to Bobbi Kristina on July 26, writing, “It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers. As Bobbi Kristina would say: ‘The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face.’”
