Bobby Flay was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, June 2, but unfortunately, his nasty public divorce battle overshadowed his celebration — literally.

While accepting his star — the first for a celebrity chef — a plane flew over the ceremony with a banner that read “cheater.”

The embarrassing moment comes amid the Food Network star’s bitter divorce battle with estranged wife Stephanie March. According to Page Six, Flay, 50, allegedly was cheating on the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actress with his assistant, Elyse Tirrell. Tirrell, a singer/actress, worked as a hostess at the chef’s Bar Americain in 2008 before becoming his assistant.Bobby Flay Star

Flay’s rep, however, has continued to deny the accusations, insinuating they’ve been planted by March, 40, who is battling her husband of 10 years over their prenuptial agreement.

"We will continue to refrain from responding to the continued efforts by certain parties to spread rumors and innuendo. This specific allegation was in a letter sent from one attorney in this case to the other. It was written and then leaked specifically to try to insert this story into the press, and that’s unfortunate,” Flay’s rep told Us in a statement regarding the Page Six report. “Even more unfortunate is that all of this is being done in order to renegotiate a prenuptial agreement that was agreed to over a decade ago and never amended during the marriage."

March and Flay’s prenup currently states the millionaire has to pay his ex only $5,000 per month.

Nasty divorce aside, it’s unclear whether March had anything to do with the banner.
