American Hustler! A-List star Bradley Cooper got quite the surprise on the red carpet at the SAG Awards in L.A. on Saturday, Jan. 18. Soon after he arrived outside the Shrine Auditorium, Ukrainian journalist Vitalii Sediuk lunged at the actor, kneeling and hugging him around his waist with his face in his crotch. Cooper, 39, immediately got red in the face as he reached down to try to lift the known-prankster off of him. After several tries, Sediuk got up on his own, whispered something in Cooper’s ear and walked off.
Following the incident, a photographer shouted at Cooper, asking if he was alright, to which the American Hustle star confidently nodded and smiled.
This isn’t the journalist’s first public stunt with known A-Listers. At the 2013 Grammy Awards, the 25-year-old attempted to interrupt Adele‘s Best Solo Pop Performance acceptance speech, before presenter Jennifer Lopez cut him off.
The reporter for Ukrainian TV channel 1+1 managed to get into the ceremony without a ticket or press credentials, taking Adam Levine‘s seat and leaving the performer to sit on buddy Blake Shelton‘s lap.
And in May 2012, Will Smith slapped the journalist after Sediuk kissed the actor on the cheek at the Men in Black III Moscow premiere.
Sediuk also attempted to crash last year’s Oscars, but was unsuccessful. Tune in on March 2, 2014 to see if he makes another attempt this year!
