Brian Austin Green is keeping it real when it comes to sex and aging.

“‘As men age, do you notice that your sex drive is lowering?’ Sure, absolutely, of course,” Green, 53, shared on the Saturday, August 29, episode of iHeartRadio’s “I Do, Part 2” podcast when responding to a listener’s email question. “That is a chemical thing. That is testosterone. That is what men, as they age, start naturally losing.”

Although the former Beverly Hills, 90210 actor suggested that men can take supplements in order to “go the opposite direction,” he answered the listener’s question with his honest opinion.

“To me, honestly, absolutely. Sex drive lowers,” he continued. “There’s no way to avoid that. I didn’t ask for it.”

Cohost and Bachelor Nation alum Bob Guiney also shared his perspective on the changes his peers have experienced as they get older.

“When you’re 16, 17, 18, 25, whatever, it’s like, all you think about is sex 24-7. How am I going to have it? Where am I going to find it?” Guiney, 55, said. “As you get older, you got so many other things going on in your life and so many other responsibilities and so many other things.”

The Bachelor alum — who married Jessica Canyon in 2016 — said there is a regimen to follow as you start experiencing the ramifications of aging.

“I’m 55. I am married to someone younger, and part of me is making sure that I am there for her in the ways that she needs me to be as well,” he explained. “You can’t just sit on the couch all the time and expect to be the guy that’s ready to go.”

This isn’t the first time Green has opened up about his sex life on his iHeartRadio podcast. During a July episode, the actor — who is engaged to Sharna Burgess — said that intimacy has “absolutely gotten better” for him with age.

“I am way less concerned with how I feel in it and my own insecurities, and I’m way more concerned about how she feels and that I’m doing things that she truly likes,” Green explained. “And I’m also not doing things she doesn’t like.”

When he was younger, Green said he viewed sex as just an “action.”

“You sort of did it until the action was done and you’re like, ‘Cool, let’s go make a grilled cheese sandwich or something now,’” he explained in a previous episode. “Sex was way more sort of a sport thing when I was younger. Sex now is a connection thing. It’s one more thing that we can do to feel connected.”
