Bristol Palin broke her silence on her decision to call off her wedding.

Coming clean. Bristol Palin broke her silence on the status of her relationship on Tuesday, May 26, just a little more than a week after she called off her wedding to Dakota Meyer.

Sarah Palin's eldest daughter, 24, was scheduled to exchange vows with her marine love on May 23, but cancelled her plans for the Memorial Day weekend nuptials just days before. She kept her explanation vague, citing "trust in God's timing" and a desire to "wait a while and having things fall into place."

"I'm sure you've seen this has been all over the media, but this is a painful time for family and friends and I would just really appreciate your prayers."

"I know God’s plan is greater than anything else, and Tripp and I are in Alaska beginning to rebuild our lives under much different circumstances than we anticipated," she added, mentioning the 6-year-old son that she shares with ex Levi Johnston. "Thank you for all of your love and support."
