Though Jenner has already transitioned from male to female, participated in an emotional televised interview with Diane Sawyer, and was famously featured on the stunning cover of Vanity Fair’s July issue, the former Olympian, 65, has opted not to walk the red carpet at tonight’s event.

A source tells Us Weekly that, “She doesn’t want to draw an obscene amount of attention to herself and take away from the other deserving athletes.”

Another source tells Us that fellow trans woman, actress Candis Cayne will be Caitlyn’s date to the prestigious event. Cayne has been very supportive of Jenner since she transitioned and is an outspoken activist for trans rights herself. Despite false tabloid reports, sources confirm to Us that there is nothing romantic between Caitlyn and Cayne.
