Just like Us, Calvin Harris wasn’t expecting his ex-girlfriend of two weeks, Taylor Swift, to rebound already.
“Calvin was surprised to see the photos and that she had moved on so quickly,” a source close to the DJ-producer tells Us Weekly of Swift’s cozy snaps with Tom Hiddleston. “That was fast! It was surprising to him but he just wants to move on. He’s a really good guy.”
As first revealed in UK paper The Sun, Swift, 26, was caught kissing and getting close with the English actor, 35, on a beach in Rhode Island on Tuesday, June 14, two weeks after Harris called it quits with Swift after more than a year of dating.
The “Shake It Off” singer and Avengers actor first sparked chatter after hitting it off at the Met Gala in May. The duo had a dance-off at the fashion event and even attended afterparties together, where Harris was nowhere in sight.
Now that they’ve split, a source close to Swift tells Us that the single songstress is exploring her options with the handsome Brit.
“Tom checks off a lot of boxes. He’s hot, smart, talented, British, blond, everything she’s into. What’s not to like? She’s going with it and why shouldn’t she?” the Swift insider says. “They have been bonding over the industry, their childhoods, where they are from. It’s the getting-to-know-you phase. Taylor is just happy to have the time to meet someone new and move on from Calvin.”
The day after their PDA-filled beach date, Hiddleston and Swift had a romantic date night at Olympia Tea Room in Westerly, Rhode Island, on Wednesday, June 15.
“Tom and Taylor were in the back left booth drinking white wine,” an eyewitness exclusively told Us. “They were very cute, a lot of laughing, giggling, as she showed him texts and photos on her phone.”
The Grammy winner previously dated Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Conor Kennedy and Taylor Lautner. Hiddleston was last linked to his Avengers costar Elizabeth Olsen.
