Mad about Chad! Former NFL star Chad Johnson (formerly Chad Ochocinco) has been repeatedly mistaken for season 12 Bachelorette villain Chad Johnson on social media, with often hilarious results.

The athlete Johnson, 38, who legally changed his name to Ochocinco (a reference to his Cincinnati Bengals jersey number 85) in 2008 and then back to Johnson in 2012, was the recipient of some major backlash aimed at reality TV miscreant Johnson, 28.

As fans have witnessed on JoJo Fletcher’s season of the Bachelorette, the former Marine has butted heads with fellow contestants by starting fights and talking smack, which “Ochocinco” has erroneously taken heat for. Instead of getting upset about fans’ fiery tweets, though, the retired football player decided to have some fun with Bachelor Nation on Tuesday, June 7.

“Chad is one hated man, huh?” wrote one viewer, to which the onetime wide receiver responded, “No everybody loves me, those that don't haven't met me in person.”

“@ochocinco hey brother, we see you doing upper body,” tweeted another Chad Johnson hater, taking aim at the Bachelorette star’s polarizing on-camera workouts. “but you need to do squats cause you look like you r riding a chicken #a–hole."

"@ochocinco #TheBachelorette hey chicken legs they have anger management courses available now #madman #stalker," the infuriated Bachelorette devotee added.

Football player Johnson was quick to correct the angry fan and candidly opened up about taking anger management classes four years ago. He also reminded her of the main difference between himself and the widely despised Bachelorette hopeful.

“Hi Geri, I'm the black Chad, you're referring to the other Chad from The Bachelor, I love you," he eloquently replied. "Coincidently I took my classes in 2012 & it helped tremendously, but I'm the black Chad & I love you."

“Geri” was thrilled to hear from the more beloved of the two Chad Johnsons and wrote back, “I love you too black Chad! !!!”

The best part? Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson plans on talking to the misbehaved Chad Johnson in an effort to make him a better man. “This is totally awesome, I will converse w/ the white Chad so he becomes a bit more appealing & likable,” he told the excited “Geri.” “I love you.”
