Charlie Sheen's ex-fiancee Brett Rossi — a.k.a. Scottine — has been hospitalized after having an adverse reaction to prescription medication, an insider tells Us Weekly. The revelation comes a day after it was reported that the former porn star had an apparent overdose.
"Her hospital stay was due to an adverse reaction to a newly prescribed medication," the insider tells Us of Rossi, who also goes by the name Scottine Sheen. "The rumors that she had her stomach pumped due to an overdose are completely false. Scottine has always been an advocate for living a healthy, sober lifestyle and has never had a history of substance abuse in her past."
The source adds: "Scottine has chosen not to comment on anything regarding her personal life and has only asked that the media please respect her privacy during this time."
Sheen, 49, has reached out to Rossi, 25, since the incident. "Charlie and Scotty have been in communication and Charlie still has a tremendous fondness for Scotty and continues to wish her all the best," the actor's publicist, Jeff Ballard, tells Us.
Rossi and the Anger Management star got engaged last Valentine's Day. Rossi took Sheen's last name, but the couple eventually called off their eight-month engagement last month.
"Scotty and I had a great year together as we traveled the world and crossed a lot of things off our bucket list," Sheen told Us in a statement at the time, via Ballard. "She's a terrific gal, but we've mutually decided to go our separate ways and to not spend the rest of our lives together."
