Candid Chris! Chris Brown and his longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran have called it quits yet again, but this time things seem to be a little more permanent. The 26-year-old model took to Instagram on Saturday, Dec. 6, posting an inspirational message.
"When something bad happens, you can either let it define you, let it destroy you or let it strengthen you. The choice is yours," the message read.
Tran's lengthy captions said, "I refuse to be repeatedly mistreated especially by someone who claims to love me. That's not love. Yes, I have not been so smart before in the past but I made a promise to be a better and stronger woman and I'm keeping that promise. If you can't love me the right way, then don't love me at all. Don't be mad at me because I prefer to be happy."
Not one to take his ex's comments lying down, the "Loyal" singer, 25, commented from his official Instagram account. His long message has since been deleted, but numerous sites took a screenshot of his post.
"We've got scars, some of them u gave me, some of them I've caused," he began. "That ride or die act we have been fooling the world with obviously ain't working. I was locked up for damn near 4 months and only got 1 visit from you while u was hosting parties and taking secret trips to Toronto, going on dates with Drake!"
In March 2014 Brown was sent to jail after violating the terms of his rehab facility following the beating of a man on the street while using homophobic language.
And his revelations about his flawed relationship didn't end there.
"When this relationship first started u knew what it was and even participated in threesomes," he continued. "I slowed all that shit down. So let's not try to save face for public opinion because I don't need to play victim so people can take my side. All these celebrity n—as ain't s–t and focus only on themselves. I made it clear to the world who my girl was and made your life equal to mine even at the cost of me not focusing on my career at times. So miss me wit the bulls–t. No y'all know the real."
Prior to their split, Brown defended his romance with Tran after Adrienne Bailon and the other hosts of the talk show The Real, questioned the model's dangerous "situation" in dating Brown.
"You ole trout mouth ass b–ch," the R&B singer captioned a photo of Bailon. "Won't u the same b–ch that was f—ing wit married men?"
