That’s gonna leave a mark. Christie Brinkley‘s sojourn in paradise was interrupted briefly when she got into an accident trying to save a bird in Turks and Caicos. As seen in an Instagram post on Monday, April 6, the supermodel suffered a pretty nasty shiner and had to be flown to a hospital in Miami for tests.
“We interrupt this holiday to take a little unplanned excursion to Miami for cat scans and stitches following an accident trying to save a bird,” she captioned a collage of photos of herself and her injury.
“My grateful heartfelt thanks go out to our wonderful Parrot Cay Family who got me to the boat and plane, and my friends in Miami who found my A Team at University of Miami Hospital led by Dr Askari and his professional caring and adorable team,” she continued.
She then gave a shout-out to BFF Mindy Moak, “who spent her much needed and deserved holiday” by the blonde stunner’s bedside. “I can’t possibly thank you enough and I offer you a pain check..I mean rain check!” Brinkley quipped, adding the hashtags #grateful, #thankful, #itcouldhavebeenworse, #youneverknow, and #liveachday.
Fortunately, the former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl appears to be okay. A few hours after her initial post about the accident, she shared another picture of her view of the ocean.
“I’m back in Parrot Cay and is it my imagination (or the bump on my head?) that has me seeing the clouds as B A E (before anything else), which is reserved for very special sweet people like all of you who wrote such kind well wishes…” she wrote. “I think this sunset is for all of Y O U! Thank you BAE!”
