Ciara is opening up about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s “magical” wedding after attending the star-studded nuptials with husband Russell Wilson.
“We had the best time,” Ciara, 40, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, July 10, while promoting her partnership with Ross World, Ross’ new creative platform. “It was a really beautiful, magical night, and I [will] kind of leave it there.”
Ciara noted she will keep Swift and Kelce’s special night as private as possible out of respect for the newlyweds, staying mum on whether she and Wilson, 37, sang karaoke at the July 3 reception at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
“I think I’ll let Travis and Taylor tell their story of their beautiful wedding whenever they choose to. But I can definitely say it was a really fun night,” Ciara teased.
While Ciara didn’t want to spill too much about the extravagant wedding, which included about 1,000 invitees, she had nothing but good things to say about Swift and Kelce, both 36, as a couple.
“We’re very happy for them,” Ciara said, referring to her and Wilson, who knows Kelce through their NFL connection. “There’s nothing better than when two people who love each other so much find love, and we were able to witness a beautiful moment for them.” (Kelce plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs while Wilson announced his retirement from the league in June after being a quarterback for 14 seasons.)
Ciara, who often runs in the same musical circles as Swift, added, “It was definitely really sweet to be a part of a night that was so important to them. So we are very happy for them.”
Swift and Kelce tied the knot on July 3 after hosting a rehearsal dinner one day prior.
The couple have yet to share any photos from the event, which was no-phones allowed, but they confirmed in a press release that their bridal party was small.
“Taylor and Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen,” the press release read. “Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”
On Friday, sportscaster Rich Eisen, who attended the nuptials, told Entertainment Tonight that Travis’ nieces, Wyatt, 6, Ellie, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finn, 15 months, were also part of the ceremony, “sprinkling flower petals all over the place.” (Jason, 38, shares the four girls with wife Kylie Kelce.)
Ciara, meanwhile, gave fans a glimpse at her and Wilson’s wedding attire following the big day.
“A NighTT For Lovers 🖤,” she captioned an Instagram upload, sharing pictures of the pair heading to the event.
Just days after toasting to Travis and Taylor’s love story, Ciara and Wilson celebrated their own relationship milestone: their 10-year wedding anniversary.
In honor of the occasion, which was on July 6, Ciara released her new song, “Yes.”
“It was produced by Thom Bridges, written by myself, Rachel West and Courtlin Jabrae,” Ciara told Us on Friday of the new track, calling it a “super feel-good record, song for lovers, but also those that just love to feel good.”
She added, “You can have a little sign language fun with the song as well, which you’ll see me do on my TikTok. But it just really feels good, and I feel like just in time for summer energy and just good vibes.”
Ciara — who shares three children with Wilson as well as one son with ex Future — told Us that music and summer weddings aren’t the only things that have been keeping her busy recently. She has partnered with Ross World, a new “creative platform” from Ross, to help combine fashion, music, movement and culture.
“There was already an organic tie-in [for this] and connection to the Ross brand in our household, as we have our kids brand, 3Brand, in Ross stores,” Ciara shared with Us. “So we feel really proud [of] the success we’ve had so far.”
The musician noted that she was “super pumped” to work on the Ross World partnership, especially after seeing the “boldness of this campaign.”
“There’s nothing better than when you can collaborate with brands that are so special — in reference to the reach that Ross has and the families that come in now [to] the stores and us already being partners. There’s nothing better than the combination of all this happening together as one,” Ciara concluded.
