Pregnant CNN Anchor Poppy Harlow Passes Out on Live TV

What. Just. Happened? Pregnant CNN anchor Poppy Harlow passed out on live television on Monday, December 28, and returned shortly after the incident to explain what happened.

As seen in a clip first captured by Deadspin, 33-year-old Harlow begins the broadcast with some breaking news with a lower third that reads: “Iraq declares Ramadi ‘Liberated’ from ISIS.'”

She then slowly begins to slur her words. “We have this new CNN/ORC poll,” she says quietly. “Which is quite a . . . quite a . . . turnaround . . .”

The broadcast then goes radio silent and Harlow is heard breathing through her anchor mic. CNN quickly replaced her with CNN Media anchor Brian Stelter. Shortly after the incident, Harlow rebounds and returns to the anchor chair.

“For all of you on Twitter, who are asking if I’m OK, thank you so much,” Harlow told her fans on CNN. “I got a little hot and I passed out for a moment.”

She also took to Twitter to address the on-air incident.

Following the scare, the pregnant anchor went to the hospital to make sure everything was fine with her expectancy.

This will be the first child for Harlow and her husband, Sinisa Babcic. Harlow announced to Adweek last month that they are expecting their little one in spring 2016. “We could not be more thrilled to have a little girl on the way,” Harlow told TVNewser at the time. “We feel blessed and are excited for the adventure ahead.”
