Collin Gosselin is refuting his sister Hannah Gosselin’s claim that they haven’t spoken in nearly one year.

“I want to respect her privacy, so I’m going to keep it brief,” Collin, 22, said during his Thursday, October 22, appearance on The View. “But I will say this: All families are complicated. I’ve seen Hannah many times in the past year. Me, myself, my father at our house. I have pictures if you want to see them.”

Hannah, 22, shared a message via TikTok Story on Wednesday, October 21, after the release of her brother’s memoir, In The Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood.

“I’ve decided to take a step back from the situation going on considering I haven’t lived with my dad in over a year and haven’t spoke [sic] to Collin in close to a year,” she wrote. “Having said that, I have had a relationship with my mom and other siblings for quite a few years now. And that’s the only thing I’m clearing up.”

Hannah added, “Beyond this, I will not be commenting on Collin’s behavior growing up or my experiences growing up with him.”

Collin said on Thursday that Hannah’s response “sounded like a lot of the words of my mother, especially the last part. What I do believe has happened is that Hannah is caught in the middle, and nobody deserves that.”

He continued, “I know what it’s like to feel like you have to fight to have a relationship with your siblings. I don’t have one with my siblings, and I know how much that hurts.”

In his book, Collin recalls growing up on his family’s TLC reality series, Jon & Kate Plus 8 (later known as Kate Plus 8), alongside sextuplet siblings Hannah, Aaden, Leah, Joel and Alexis, older twin sisters Mady and Cara and their parents, Jon and Kate Gosselin. He further explores his estrangement from Kate, 51, whom he claims physically abused him and kept him locked away in a basement.

In 2016, Collin was sent away to a behavioral facility, where he spent the next two years. He claims Kate admitted him to the institution to prevent him from speaking out about her alleged abuse. Kate has denied the allegations, insisting she sent Collin to the facility to treat dangerous behavioral issues.

Following Collin’s release from the facility, Jon, 49, gained custody of his son. Hannah opted to move in with their dad for more one-on-one time. Collin has been estranged from most of his siblings since then.

During his appearance on The View, Collin addressed whether he thinks Kate is “leveraging” Hannah’s relationship with their other siblings over her.

“I know my entire childhood I fought for that approval of my mom,” he said. “And nobody wants to believe horrible things. Nobody wants to believe their mom has done things like this, right? Even to this day, I mean, I see her, and I’m like, ‘Why do I feel bad for my mom? I shouldn’t feel bad for somebody who’s done these things.’ But that’s called having a heart.”

Addressing the recently announced Netflix documentary featuring Jon, Collin and Hannah, the Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test star added, “We filmed a large part of the documentary already. Hannah opened up about a lot of truth, not only to things that my mom did to me and corroborated those things, but she opened up about things that she experienced at the hands of my mother. So, now I believe that she’s trying to do pre-damage control.”

Collin concluded of his relationship with Hannah, “My mom has placed that guilt on her and it’s not Hannah’s fault. She should be able to have [a] relationship with her father, with her mother, with all of her siblings. Everybody should have that.”
