Shepard's sweet shout-out! Like many celebrities before him, Dax Shepard got a special tattoo in honor of his significant other. The Parenthood actor sported new ink of an actual bell in a punny tribute to his wife Kristen Bell at the This Is Where I Leave You L.A. premiere on Monday, Sept. 15.
The 39-year-old looked smitten on the red carpet with his pregnant longtime love, 34, while promoting his new film. He kept close with his tatted left hand on her back, which showed off the black and white bell on his ring finger. (Us confirmed in June that the parents of daughter Lincoln, 18 months, are expecting their second child.)
Shepard has often shown his real-life tattoo of a tree on the NBC series Parenthood — something show creator Jason Katims didn't care to hide with makeup.
"I covered up a previous terrible tattoo with this one about three years ago," Shepard told the Toronto Sun in September 2010. "In one of my first talks with Katims before I was a member of the cast, I said, 'It's imperative to me that I can have the tattoo so I'm not in makeup two extra hours a day.' And he said, 'Let's see it.' And then he was like, 'All right.'"
"I hesitate to use the word 'tribal,' but other people would have probably used that word to describe it," Shepard continued. "I have a knack for predicting which tattoos will be 'douchey' in 10 years."
