Derek Jeter is living the good life. After playing his last game as a New York Yankee on Sunday, Sept. 28, the freshly retired baseball legend is taking it easy and spending some quality time with his girlfriend.
Jeter, 40, was seen out and about with his lady Hannah Davis on Monday, hanging out in New York City after he hung up his jersey with a win at rival Boston Red Sox’s Fenway Park.
The celebrated shortstop and his swimsuit model love, 24, enjoyed an autumn afternoon in downtown Manhattan, picking up Starbucks in the city’s West Village and going for a stroll.
Jeter looked casual outside of his Yankee pinstripes, wearing a heather blue University of Michigan T-shirt, distressed blue jeans, fresh white sneakers, and aviator sunglasses.
Davis, who was featured in Sports Illustrated‘s 2013 Swimsuit Issue, looked chic in a loose black tunic minidress with black over-the-knee boots. She wore retro black shades and her blonde hair tied back in a bun, and carried a black handbag.
The model began dating her MLB star in 2012, following the end of his three-year relationship with Minka Kelly. Though Jeter has never been married or had kids, he said last week that he hopes such things are in his future.
“I just know that I personally couldn’t have done it while I was playing,” he said of starting a family in a panel interview with Steiner Sports Marketing’s Brandon Steiner. “I was too selfish to be able to juggle a family and kids. But I look forward to it happening.”
