It’s official: Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis are husband and wife! The pair tied the knot in a romantic ceremony on a golf course at Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California, on Saturday, July 9.
Davis, 26, looked stunning in a custom-made gown by Vera Wang with a sweetheart neckline, tulle halter high neck and plunging back. The dress was covered in layers of tulle and hand-appliqued Chantilly lace. She wore her hair in a bun with a veil and carried a bouquet of white flowers, while her groom, 42, wore a black suit. The ceremony began at 5 p.m. PT and lasted 20 minutes, a source tells Us Weekly.
“After the ceremony, they walked around holding hands and looking ecstatic,” the source tells Us. For the reception, Davis changed into a custom V-neck charmeuse halter gown by Vera Wang with white illusion tulle detail at the waist and a double silk georgette A-line skirt accentuated by side godets.
Us Weekly previously revealed that the former New York Yankees shortstop and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model were engaged in October 2015. One month later, the athlete confirmed the news when he dropped the word “fiancée” in a post on his website.
The happy couple first started dating in 2012, shortly after Jeter’s three-year relationship with actress Minka Kelly ended. (He has previously been linked to Vanessa Lachey, Jordana Brewster and Mariah Carey.) This is the first marriage for both.
“Their relationship works because they are both supportive and sweet to each other,” a source previously told Us. “They almost never fight.”
The source added, “Derek is totally in love with her. He thinks she’s beautiful, sweet and sexy! All of Derek’s friends are jealous that his fiancée is so beautiful.”
The high-profile pair have been adamant about keeping their love life private.
“I feel like I have to share every other part of my life,” the Caribbean-born beauty told Maxim in March. “It’s that one part that’s a bit of a mystery to people, but that’s the way we want it. The only way to protect it is not to talk about it.”
