Did Jill Zarin take aim at her ex-best friend and former costar Bethenny Frankel?
That's what some of her Twitter fans are saying. As Bethenny Ever After was airing on Bravo Monday, Zarin, 48, tweeted: "I'm watching a TV show realizing how lucky and grateful I am to be married to Mr. Bobby Zarin, the love of my life, my biggest supporter."
The comment — and its timing — didn't sit well with fans of The Real Housewives of New York City, which brought both women to prominence. (Frankel got her own spinoff, and Zarin was fired in 2011.)
"We aren't complete idiots! You were referring to [Bethenny]!" one Twitter user wrote, to which Zarin replied: "It's very sad you and some people always go to dark place. If I want to make a dig, I'll make a dig. I haven't in three years."
Zarin later told the same user: "You are a complete 'idiot' as you called yourself. I didn't know you could read minds AND see my TIVO?"
The Skweez Couture businesswoman eventually grew tired of the negative feedback, writing: "Good opportunity to block Twitter haters tonight who always think the worst and love to bully others."
Another user accused Zarin of being jealous of Frankel for being more successful. Frankel, 41, had stayed out of the fray up until this point, but felt compelled to respond to the tweet. "People are desperate," the Skinnydipping author wrote.
